TITLE IX: NONDISCRIMINATION
It is the policy of ISAAC and the Connecticut State Department of Education that no person shall be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise discriminated against in any educational program including employment, because of race, color, religious creed, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, mental retardation and past/present history of mental disorder, learning disability and physical disability.
Upon investigation, the Director shall put in effect any changes deemed necessary to eliminate any discriminatory practices and shall inform the complainant in writing of his/her actions within thirty days of the receipt of such complaint.
If the complainant is not satisfied with the actions of the Director, within twenty days of receiving the information of the action taken, the complainant may appeal the actions of the Director in writing to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall hold a hearing within fifteen days of receipt of such written request and shall decide what, if any, remedies are necessary to eliminate the practices deemed discriminatory. The Board shall notify the complainant in writing of its decision within five days after such a hearing.
